Rosacea

Rosacea is a common condition that effects up to 3% of the population. It is characterised by facial flushing (redness), pimple like lesions, and occasional eye irritation.

Treatment Options

1. Sun protection and sunscreen 50+

2. Avoidance of heat, alcohol, hot food and spicy food and caffeine

3. Topical therapy

  • Metronidazole Gel
  • Azelaic Acid

4. Systemic therapy

  1. Tetracycline Antibiotics
  2. Erythromycin Antibiotics
  3. Retinoids

5. Vascular laser and IPL

This closes down the excessive facial capillaries resulting in reduced flushing and redness.
