5 facts about Body-Jet Liposuction you always wanted to know

Body-jet liposuction is one of the latest advances in liposuction and body contouring methods. It offers the ultimate in fat removal with less pain, less bruising and less downtime than traditional methods. So how does it work? And what exactly are the benefits over other liposuction methods? Here, our experts reveal 5 fascinating facts about body-jet liposuction.

One of the most popular cosmetic procedures today, liposuction has been around since 1974. But even though it’s been around for the last 40 years, only recently has a gentler and less risky technique been developed. This relatively new procedure is called body-jet liposuction – and it’s taking the industry by storm.

How does body-jet liposuction work?

The main difference between body-jet liposuction and traditional liposuction is the use of highly concentrated streams of water. The pressure created from the water is used to dislodge the fat from your body so that it can be removed more easily.

During the procedure, the surgeon will make small incisions into the skin, under local anaesthetic so there is minimal pain or discomfort. Small cannulae (hollow tubes) are inserted to release anaesthetic fluids into the desired area. Once the area is anaesthetised, multiple jets of saline are used to loosen the fat. The fat is then suctioned away from the body using a surgical vacuum.

As a result, there are 5 advantages to body-jet liposuction:

  1. It’s gentler than traditional liposuction

Body-jet liposuction is gentler on the body than traditional liposuction methods. Because body-jet uses a high-pressure jet of saline-based anaesthetic to dislodge and break up the fat, less manual pressure is required to remove fat cells. This minimises damage to the surrounding cells, soft tissues, muscles and blood vessels. These factors combined mean the procedure is less invasive, more comfortable and gentler, while still delivering the contouring results you want.

  1. Shorter recovery time

Because body-jet liposuction is easier on your body and requires no general anaesthetic, recovery time is significantly shorter than with traditional liposuction. And even though you’ll be up and about sooner, the results won’t be compromised. Recovery times differs from patient to patient, and also depends on the areas you’ve had treated, however typically you can be back to normal life within two to four days.

  1. Nearly any area can be treated

Nearly any area where there is excess fat can be corrected with body-jet liposuction. For women, common areas include the abdomen, hips, inner and outer thighs, around the knees and under the chin. But it’s important to remember that liposuction is not a weight-loss treatment – it is always intended for body contouring and reshaping.

  1. Body-jet improves your shape instantly

When you undergo body-jet liposuction, you will notice an improvement in your shape immediately. Better yet, the treated areas will continue to contract over the next three to six months, giving the best results over time.

  1. Body-jet gives longer-lasting results

The results of body-jet liposuction typically last longer than traditional liposuction. This is because the fat cells permanently removed from the treated areas. So you can enjoy a leaner body, smoother skin and more confidence.

Body-jet liposuction is an attractive alternative to traditional liposuction. It’s gentler on the body, versatile, doesn’t require general anaesthetic, allows a faster recovery, and provides longer lasting results. However, as with any procedure, only you can determine if it’s what you want. Always consult with a reputable specialist before you commit to the procedure.
